Toledo (EFE) upcoming elections on May 28, which he will face with a “positive, centralist and respectful” campaign.
The deputy secretary general of the PSOE of Castilla-La Mancha and MEP, Cristina Maestre, has advanced this in a press conference prior to the holding of the committee meeting, chaired by García-Page, which takes place today in Toledo.
Maestre has assured that the Castilian-La Mancha PSOE begins the electoral campaign “with all the energy in the world” and “great positivism”, since he hopes to receive the “solid” support of the citizenry again, since it presents “the best” candidates and a “regional” project. “Things are going to go very well”, he has predicted.
The PSOE does not take it for granted
In any case, he has pointed out that the Socialists “do not give things for granted” and will work “until the last moment” to achieve victory that will allow them to continue governing alone after the electoral appointment, which García-Page attends as head list with the “endorsement and credibility” of having contributed “positively” to the autonomous community and the country.
In this sense, the deputy secretary general of the regional PSOE has indicated that the Government of Castilla-La Mancha has reached “very high quotas” of the electoral program that it presented in the last elections, of which it has fulfilled “more than 80 percent” of its electoral commitments.
“We have reasons to transit, tour, meet and to look citizens in the face without blushing. Nobody is going to make our faces red because we have kept our word and because we have responded to the great challenges posed by an extremely complicated legislature ”, he highlighted.
With everything, Maestre has advanced that the PSOE will bet on a “positive, centralist and respectful” campaign, to which it will not dedicate “not a minute” to insulting or contempt for the political opponent: “As democrats, we respect the contrary . We are going to win the elections talking about ourselves, about what we have done and what is yet to be done”, he stated.
Against the “dirty” campaign
A commitment that the socialist does not expect from the rest of the opponents, such as the PP candidate for the presidency of the Board, Paco Núñez, who “intends to achieve the trust of the citizens with bad words, lies and aggression”, has criticized.
“The more he insults, the more it shows his utter weakness. The more dirty campaigns, the more we see what we have in front of us”, Maestre added about the popular candidate, whom he criticized for “not having a project for the region”, something that the citizens “are going to penalize” in the regional elections. and municipal.
In the words of Maestre, the president of the regional PP follows a populist strategy based on “attacking the contrary, generating hatred, regressing in rights, especially in the field of equality and, above all, leaving politics in this country at the level of the cartoon”. “That is what Mr. Núñez wants or what he aspires to,” he lamented.
Asked about a possible demobilization on the part of the electorate after the successive economic crises, the general deputy secretary has affirmed that her political formation will confront the two management models of the PSOE and the PP so that she can compare.
“If there is someone who plans to stay at home, we will make that effort to confront the two models and tell them that if they don’t vote, those men ‘in black’ will return. In this crisis, the PSOE is waging the battle for investment, for the strengthening of public services. Against, the right asked to tighten the belt, put the scissors and use the excuse accused citizens of living beyond their means, “he has compared.EFE
