Barcelona (EFE).- The Brazilian artist Anna Tréa offers from Friday until April 14 a series of free concerts around the city of Barcelona in which she presents her new show “Bom Tudo!”, full of Brazilian rhythms fused with the blues, folk and groove.
Originally from São Paulo, Anna Tréa is a singer, composer, arranger and one of the most respected and popular multi-instrumentalists in Brazil, who has made herself known internationally with her music and now also in Barcelona, where she is currently on the circuit ‘ Barcelona Cultural District’.
With “great pride” to be able to take part in events in the Catalan capital and with the illusion of being able to passionately express the things in which she believes with her music, Tréa told EFE: “I am very happy and excited that they called me to participate, and this interest in my work.”
“A lot of energy”
‘Barcelona District Cultural’ is a cultural circuit promoted by the Barcelona City Council and which offers different free shows with the intention of bringing culture closer to citizens, focusing on different artistic disciplines, with 235 shows in different districts of Barcelona.
The Brazilian artist seeks to offer “a lot of energy” in her concerts this spring and with a clear intention to communicate and feel closer to the people of the city: “I am very happy to be able to connect, which is the main function of my life” .
Her own songs, well-known versions, a bit of Spanish and a lot of dancing, will be the offer that the Brazilian will present with the intention of making her concerts “a deeply welcoming place where courage and emotions will be discussed”, highlighted the singer.
Anna Tréa got into music as a child thanks to her desire to dance and to communicate, shyness in her childhood being a key factor in developing her communicative tool. “Music came to me as a way to communicate,” she has pointed out.
“Art disarms you, breaks down your barriers, and in my concert the things I say is that it’s okay to be vulnerable and it’s important to know how to take care of people who are vulnerable,” the singer said.
Barcelona as a destination
The Brazilian was touring Europe as a guitarist when she came across Barcelona for the first time and knew that it was the place where she had to be. “I felt and knew that it was the place where I wanted to live my life”, admits Tréa.
It has been a little over 3 years since the artist settled in the Catalan city and the freshness of a new place has been key to her music, especially the influence of Catalan folklore and the cultural offer and diversity of Barcelona.
Also, the Brazilian has highlighted her great interest in collaborating with Catalan artists and with cultural events in the city: “I am interested in ‘eating’ all those experiences that they bring to my music”.
With his new album on the horizon, his first single will be released at the end of April and the album will be released in the second half of the year. However, Anna Tréa has explained that a “surprise” is coming in March that she will share through her networks.
“Barcelona must embrace more Latin American artists”
“There is a need for more openness to Latin American artists in Barcelona, where projects and cultural initiatives by Latin American artists should be more embraced. It would be nice to be able to connect more and trust in the potential of these meetings, we would all win,” he said. .
The artist’s first concert takes place this Friday, March 10, at the Casa Groga civic center, in the Barcelona neighborhood of Sant Genís dels Agudells. The other locations of her concerts can be found in the ‘Barcelona District Cultural’ guide and on the artist’s own social networks.
