Madrid (EFE).- The weekend will be marked by a general increase in temperatures, which on Saturday will be more pronounced in the southeast of the peninsula, points of the Cantabrian Sea, the Balearic Islands and in cities such as Murcia, Alicante, Valencia or Castellón, where the Mercury could exceed 30°.
These are very unusual temperatures for this time of year, warned the spokesman for the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) Rubén del Campo, who stressed that the city of Valencia has not reached 30° in the first fortnight March since records exist (1869).
As for rains, on Saturday they will be limited to Galicia, in whose western half they will be abundant. In a weaker way, it will rain in the Cantabrian communities and in the Pyrenees. In addition, the wind will blow strongly on the Galician coast.
A similar meteorological situation is expected for Sunday, with high pressures dominating the panorama in most of the territory.
In addition, a mass of warm air from low latitudes will continue to be present and the rains will be limited, one more day, to Galicia and other points in the extreme north.
In the rest of the country, the sun will shine and there will be a general rise in temperatures, except on the shores of the Mediterranean and the Balearic Islands, where in some cases they will drop three or four degrees compared to the day before, so Saturday will be the day when which the highest values are reached within this warm process.
