Valencia, (EFE) a total of eleven transferred to hospitals.
As reported by the Local Police, the accident could have been caused by a casing that did not detonate in the air but upon reaching the ground, in the area located in front of the town hall, near the corner with Calle Barcas.
Although the total number of injured has not yet been confirmed by the Red Cross, responsible for the security operation during the mascletà -the Emergency Information and Coordination Center of the Generalitat has not intervened-, the Local Police have recorded 21 injuries , at least two of them with severe burns on their legs.
The rest of the injured have burns of varying degrees on the legs and arms, mainly, always according to the Local Police.
Five of the injured have been transferred in ambulances and another six in police patrols to the Clinical Hospital, Doctor Peset Aleixandre and La Fe.
The Red Cross report also reports that twenty-seven people have been treated for fainting spells during this Friday’s mascletà, fired as is traditional at two o’clock in the afternoon and that on this occasion it has been carried out by Pirotecnia Zaragozana, from the Aragonese capital.
