Madrid (EFE).- The price of housing increased by 7.4% on average in 2022, leading its biggest rise since 2007, when it increased by 9.8%, and chaining nine years of increases, according to data published by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
By type of home, second-hand housing became more expensive on average by 7.3% in 2022, its biggest increase in 15 years. For its part, the price of new housing rose on average by 7.9% and had not increased so much since 2007.
In the last quarter of last year, the price of housing increased 5.5%, the lowest rate since mid-2021, but it became 0.8% cheaper compared to the third quarter.
