Valencia (EFE).- The pyrotechnician María José Lora Zamorano has dyed the sky of the city of Valencia with sound, rhythm and purple on this International Women’s Day, with a mascletà in honor of all women, but especially those pyrotechnics, “those that can be seen and those that are not, which are many”.
This has been assured to EFE by Lora, from the Caballer FX Global Foc Pyrotechnics, from Moncada (Valencia), during the assembly of this mascletà, the third that this pyrotechnic fires on March 8 in the Town Hall square, although he feels “the same excitement than the first time.”
“It is a very exciting day, I am very proud to represent all women pyrotechnics and to offer this show to all women,” said Lora, who celebrates the advancement of the visibility of women in this union although she acknowledges that there is still a lot of work to do.
Thus, she wanted to dedicate the shot to all women, but especially to those in her sector, an area in which, she assures, there has always been a lot of female labor in production, although invisible, and now we are beginning to see that female work.
A mascletan dyed purple
For the occasion, he has prepared a show full of noise and violet color, present in all the artifice and also in the smoke that each explosion leaves behind, with the aim of paying homage to women and the fight against gender violence.
At two o’clock in the afternoon, the eighth Mascletà de las Fallas 2023 began, just after the fallera mayor, Laura Mengó, and the children’s fallera mayor, Paula Nieto, gave the order that the whole square was waiting for: “Mrs. pyrotechnics, the mascletà can begin!” (Pyrotechnic lady, you can start the mascletà!).
It has been a mechanized aerial mascletà, made up of retentions and digital effects, with an earthquake in three phases and four endings that have been increasing in intensity, and it has ended with a “terrestrial and aerial dry blow”.
A crowded square and with an almost summer temperature, more than 20 degrees but with strong gusts of wind, has given an ovation to this professional, who belongs to the fifth generation of pyrotechnicians of the Caballer family, with more than 150 years of history.
Women, protagonists on the balcony
The main balcony of the Town Hall has had a festive, demanding and sporting character, since among the guests the players of the main teams of the city have stood out: Levante UD, Valencia CF and Valencia Basket.
The Ministers of Justice, Gabriela Bravo; Education, Culture and Sport, Raquel Tamarit, and Agriculture, Isaura Navarro.
