Agoncillo, (EFE).- The Spanish of the 21st century will be built from La Rioja, through the Valle de la Lengua strategic project, an initiative, promoted by the La Rioja government, which will take advantage of the full potential of this language and turn it into a tool of progress and the “engine of the new economic sector of artificial intelligence”.
This was conveyed this Tuesday by the President of the Government of La Rioja, Concha Andreu, in the presentation of the project, which has as a reference the Riojan monasteries of San Millán de la Cogolla, a World Heritage Site for being the cradle of Spanish, which speak more than 580 million people in the world.
Valle de la Lengua has a confirmed global investment of 81 million euros, of which the Spanish Executive contributes 40 to turn La Rioja into a sanctuary for Spanish, Andreu told some two hundred people, representatives of different areas of the La Rioja society, which has gathered at the Würth Museum to present this initiative.
“The Spanish of artificial intelligence will be an essential competitiveness tool for all sectors, for all fields, and it will have applications that we can hardly imagine now,” explained Andreu.
This project also promotes training in and about Spanish and, for this, the Campus Valle de la Lengua has been created, with an investment of 8 million euros, which includes a creative writing school, with the participation of writers, screenwriters, translators and editors; and training courses in audiovisual and digital content.
With a confirmed investment of 17 million euros, the linguistic, landscape and cultural heritage of the area will be recovered, museumized and digitized to offer visitors an immersive, creative and interactive experience, which will take advantage of the possibilities of artificial intelligence and reality. virtual.
In the field of culture and with a budget of 9 million eros, the Voces de la Lengua initiative has been set up, a project for artistic creation, cultural activation and innovative leisure around Spanish.
Valle de la Lengua also seeks to increase the presence of Spanish in the production and dissemination of scientific knowledge, strengthen cooperation between multinational researchers in Spanish and promote the creation of research teams in Spanish with international prestige.
To do this, it has an investment of 6 million euros and is committed to converting Dialnet Global into the main data space for science in Spanish and into an open science portal in Spanish.
La Rioja, within the Language Valley, will host the Intelligence Center for the New Language Economy and the Global Spanish Observatory; and, in addition, an oral corpus of Spanish will be built. EFE
