Palma, Mar 7 (EFE).- Specialists from the Civil Guard are working this Tuesday, for the second consecutive day, in the search for Malén Ortiz in a farm in Calvià near the place where this missing teenager was last seen since 2013.
With dogs and bulldozers, agents of the armed institute continue the search that began on Monday based on new data recently obtained, sources in the case have confirmed to EFE.
Malén Ortiz, who was 15 years old at the time, disappeared without a trace in the Son Ferrer area on December 2, 2013 after leaving school, when she was going on a scooter to her boyfriend’s house to eat.
The Civil Guard has stressed that since then “at no time has the investigation ceased”, but it has evaded offering details about the new avenues of investigation.
Again, this morning agents from the armed institute searched rustic land in the vicinity of the area where the teenager disappeared, aided by bloodhound dogs and excavators with which they move earth and rubble.
On the day of her disappearance, after leaving the Santa Ponça institute and getting off a bus, a security camera at the Son Ferrer gas station captured the last image we have of Malén, just as she was riding her scooter to go eat at her boyfriend’s house, a few hundred meters away.
Shortly before, she spoke with her father’s secretary to let them know that she would have lunch with her boyfriend, who assured the investigators that Malén never came home. It was 3:45 p.m. on December 2, 2013.
