Los Angeles (USA) (EFE) CNN a spokesman for the duke.
“I can confirm that the Duke recently received email correspondence from His Majesty’s (Charles III) office regarding the coronation,” said the spokesman, who was not identified by the television network.
But “we will not, at this time, disclose an immediate decision on whether the duke and duchess will attend” that event, it added.
Carlos III and his wife, the queen consort Camilla, will be crowned on May 6 in London, at Westminster Abbey, during events that will last for three days with celebrations throughout the country.
Following the publication of the controversial memoir of the sovereign’s youngest son and the ill-fated Lady Diana, rumors have spread about whether Enrique and his wife would be invited to the royal event.
According to UK media, Enrique, who currently maintains a tense relationship with his family, has been in contact with his father’s representatives regarding his attendance at the coronation ceremony in May.
So far, the palace has not specified which members of the family will appear in the central coronation acts: a procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey, and on the palace balcony at the end of the day alongside the king and the queen consort.
