Carmela Díaz, from Sí de Puede Canarias, has considered in her speech that this is a very important moment but has assured that the three formations want to go one step further so that the union can be extended to other left-wing organizations and even people on a personal level .
It is an exciting project for the islands, said Díaz, who has ensured that the three formations speak from dialogue, understanding and equality and has stated that he would like to take this way of working to all citizens “municipality by municipality ” because, it has been defined, its formation is fundamentally municipalist because “it is where you arrive and work with the people”.
The representative of Sí Se Puede Canarias has indicated that the institutions must work “from respect and equality”, in such a way that it allows the generation of policies that respect people and the environment.
Antonio Pérez, from Izquierda Unida Canaria, celebrated the construction “of a fundamental tool for Canarian citizenship” and has considered that from there policies that put the social majority at the center of the Government’s political action must be continued of the Canary Islands and the governments of the councils and town halls.
Pérez has opined that for a long time politics has left the social majority aside and has worked “cornering it” and for this reason he understands that this confluence can allow citizens to participate in the social model for the Canary Islands and advance in this regard.
“We are going to bet on the reinforcement of public services, which we think is essential because they are the only ones that guarantee equal treatment for citizens,” he said, in addition to referring to the recovery of the management of public services in many town halls and councils and in the autonomous community “and fight for sustainable tourism that is also more at the service of the people.”
The document presented today states that the electoral date of May 28 is a revulsion that invites left-wing, progressive and green organizations to reflect on their work logic and strive to create new political conditions that unseat conservative options.
“It is intended to generate a winning pole at the electoral level, but also to create the conditions that make it possible to interweave the multiple transformative initiatives and sensibilities -collective and individual- around an unprecedented common political project, rooted in the territory, lasting, radically participatory and plural”, he adds.
