Valencia, Mar 4 (EFE).- The Minister of Consumption and general coordinator of the United Left (IU), Alberto Garzón, has defended a “federal and republican Spain against the tiny Spain that exists in the minds of the radicalized right and the ultra-right, in which almost no one fits”.
Garzón has assured that in the minds of Núñez Feijóo and Abascas “there is no room for anyone, neither Catalans, nor Valencians, nor Basques nor Galicians, nor socialists, nor those who are not believers, it is a Spain that they use to hit the political adversary. We defend a different Spain, which believes in socialism, republicanism and fraternity”.
The IU leader has participated in a pre-election act in Valencia in which, with the motto “We take care of what is close” and in front of some 500 people, in which Sira Reego, MEP and spokesperson for the organization, and Rosa Pérez Garijo have also intervened , general coordinator of the Esquerra Unida del País Valencià (EUPV) and Minister of Participation and Democratic Quality, as well as the candidates from Asturias, Madrid, Aragon, Extremadura, Navarra, La Rioja, Murcia, Cantabria, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands and Castilla -The stain.
GARZÓN: WE ARE THE LEFT ANCHORED IN THE TERRITORY
In his speech, Alberto Garzón defended that “we are a recognizable, trustworthy force. We are the left anchored in the territory, which knows the social reality and integrates into its fabric. In every conflict, there is always someone from UI.”
The also Minister of Consumption has vindicated the figure and the project of Vice President Yolanda Díaz: “she embodies the principles and values that we defend from IU, that is why our country project is about to contribute the best we have in a project like Sumar”.
For his part, Pérez Garijo has valued the organizational and institutional work of Esquerra Unida: “for the first time we have been part of the government of the Botanical in the last four years. We are the cause of many transformations that have made progress in the Valencian Country”.
He has vindicated the work and the municipalist force of the organization, an area in which “we have shown ourselves as a transforming force”, and has mentioned the fight against corruption, “the insignia and distinctive of the work of EUPV in the Valencian territory”.
“The Valencian Country was known for 20 years for the corruption of the PP. Today we have a very different reality, thanks to the work of Esquerra Unida, we have taken them to court ”, he stated.
The MEP and IU spokesperson, Sira Rego, commented that the act in Valencia “serves as accountability, to publicize our political work from the opposition, but also from where we have had the opportunity to govern or influence in some way the governments”.
Rego has affirmed that “where we have governed, people live better. With that emotion and impetus, we present ourselves to the next electoral appointment”.
IU is “especially satisfied” by the preparation of “serious, viable and fair alternatives”, created from the political dialogue. With this act, the organization intends to value its municipalist strength: “we are a left that knows the daily reality of our towns, because we are the people”, stressed the IU spokesperson. EFE
