Washington (EFE).- The United States approves a new package of 400 million dollars in military aid for Ukraine, coinciding with the visit to Washington of the German chancellor, Olaf Scholz, on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Russian invasion.
The new package, the 33rd the United States has sent to kyiv, contains ammunition for the HIMARS long-range missile system and Bradley tanks.
Among other weapons, detailed the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, in a statement.
“Russia could end its war today. As long as it does not, we will remain united with Ukraine, strengthening its Army on the battlefield, ”warned the leader of American diplomacy.
Likewise, Blinken highlighted the “incredible commitment” expressed by more than 50 allied countries that have so far been providing support to Ukraine.
Scholz’s visit to Washington
The United States is the largest donor of weapons and humanitarian aid to Ukraine, with nearly $30 billion approved to date.
This new package coincides with Scholz’s visit to Washington, where he will hold a meeting at the White House with US President Joe Biden on aid to Ukraine.
The United States and Germany held tough negotiations last month over the first-time shipment of tanks to Ukraine.
