Pamplona (EFE).- Registered unemployment in Navarra rose by 366 people in February, which represents an increase of 1.14% compared to January, bringing the total number of unemployed to 32,364.
According to the data provided this Thursday by the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy, in Navarra there are 1,329 fewer unemployed than in February 2022, a figure that in percentage terms translates into a year-on-year decrease of 3.94%.
In Spain as a whole, unemployment has registered a minimum rise of 0.09% with 2,618 more people registered for unemployment to reach 2,911,015.
By sex, as detailed by the Statistics Institute of Navarra-Nastat, 19,554 unemployed women and 12,810 men are registered in the Foral Community. The decrease in unemployment among women is 2.3% while among men it is reduced by 6.4% compared to the same period of the previous year.
As regards age, the reduction in registered unemployment in the last year is not uniform across all age groups. Unemployment is reduced in all age groups up to 54 years, while in the age groups from 55 years it increases.
Increase the number of affiliations in Navarra
Navarra registered 661 more Social Security affiliations in February than last month and 3,979 more than in February of the previous year.
Thus, according to the data provided by the Statistics Institute of Navarra-Nastat, affiliation stands at 299,942, a figure 0.2% higher than that registered the previous month and 1.3% higher than that of the month of February 2022.
By sectors and in relation to the same month of the previous year, affiliation in Agriculture decreased by 4.2%, while it increased in Construction by 1.5%, in Services by 1.6% and in Industry by 1.5%.
According to sex and in comparison to the same month of the previous year, affiliation increased in women, 1.8%, and in men, 0.9%.
Lower the number of registered contracts
The number of contracts registered in February in work centers in Navarra stood at 19,520, which represents a decrease of 19.8% compared to the same period of the previous year.
This is reflected in the data from the Statistics Institute of Navarra-Nastat, which specifies that 14,839 contracts are temporary (76%) and 4,681 permanent (24%). Permanent contracts grew by 47.9% compared to the same period of the previous year and temporary contracts decreased by 29.9%.
By sex, 9,042 contracts were registered among men (46.3% of the total) and 10,478 among women (53.7 of the total) and by nationality, 15,502 contracts correspond to people of Spanish nationality and 4,018 to people of foreign nationality .
