Toledo (EFE).- Unemployment fell in February by 1,309 unemployed (-0.89%) in Castilla-La Mancha, bringing the total number to 146,582, while Social Security, for its part, added 303 new affiliates (0.04%).
According to data published by the Ministries of Labor and Inclusion, Social Security and Migration for the month of February, in Castilla-La Mancha there were 3,337 fewer unemployed that month than in February 2022 (-2.23%).
In the second month of the year, 745,095 more contributors to Social Security were recorded, and this is an increase of 5,428 (0.73%) compared to the same month last year.
In Spain, Social Security added 88,918 affiliates on average in February, the largest increase in employment for this month since 2015, while the number of unemployed registered with the Public State Employment Service (SEPE) increased by 2,618.
Unemployment falls in four provinces and rises in Guadalajara
By Castilian-La Mancha provinces, unemployment in February, compared to the previous month, fell by four, so that in Albacete there were 223 fewer unemployed, 465 fewer in Ciudad Real, a decrease of 66 in Cuenca and 845 fewer unemployed in Toledo, while in Guadalajara there were 290 more unemployed.
In the interannual rate, unemployment fell in Albacete (-815), Ciudad Real (-2,012) and Toledo (-820), while it rose in Cuenca and Guadalajara, with 116 and 194 more unemployed, respectively.
Of the 146,582 unemployed in Castilla-La Mancha registered in February, 51,276 were men and 95,306 women; and 11,077 unemployed were under 25 years of age, of them 5,501 men and 5,576 women.
The biggest drop in unemployment, in the service sector
By sectors, agriculture added 76 unemployed, and 190 the group without previous employment.
For its part, unemployment fell by 203 people in industry, it also fell in construction by 324 and, above all, the greatest drop in unemployment occurred in the service sector, with 1,048 fewer unemployed.
Castilla-La Mancha, the third community where unemployment fell the most
By autonomous communities, unemployment fell in nine autonomies, especially in the Valencian Community (-1,632 unemployed), Castilla y León (-1,542) and Castilla-La Mancha (-1,309).
It rose in the rest of the communities, especially in Madrid, 5,040 people; Canary Islands, 2,726 people; Murcia, 1,583 people; and Andalusia, 1,530.
Contracts go down
In February, 42,096 contracts were registered in Castilla-La Mancha, that is, 1,431 fewer than the previous month (-3.29%) and 11,682 fewer contracts than in February last year (-21.72%).
Of the total, 18,316 contracts were permanent and 23,780 temporary.
