Valladolid (EFE).- Castilla y León closed February with 1,542 fewer unemployed, -1.23 percent less than in January, and the third largest regional decrease, which leaves 124,092 unemployed in the Community, with also 3,606 more affiliates to Social Security than the previous month, a 0.39 percent improvement that brings contributors to 933,054.
In the national group, Social Security added 88,918 affiliates on average in February, the greatest increase in employment for this month since 2015, while the number of unemployed registered with the Public State Employment Service (SEPE) increased by 2,618.
Castilla y León recorded the third largest relative cut in the drop in unemployment, with that -1.23 percent, only behind the -2.13 in Aragón and -1.41 in Asturias, compared to the slight upturn of 0, 09 of the national team.
In an annual comparison, compared to February 2022, Castilla y León registered 6,558 fewer unemployed (-5.02), and 9,572 more contributors (1.04).
February leaves a drop in unemployment in all provinces
In monthly data, compared to January, unemployment fell in all the provinces of Castilla y León, up to 1.81 percent in the case of Valladolid, with -0.44 in Salamanca as the smallest decrease.
In relative data, the number of unemployed fell by 1.44 percent in Burgos, with 1.42 in Soria, 1.39 in Palencia, 1.36 in Ávila, 1.10 in Zamora, 1.07 in León and 0.95 in Segovia.
In annual terms, the number of registered unemployed also decreased in all the provinces of the Community: Ávila (-3.64%), Burgos (-3.24%), León (-5.65%), Palencia (-8 40%), Salamanca (-3.81%), Segovia (-4.40%), Soria (-2.68%), Valladolid (-7.78%) and Zamora (-0.84%).
Unemployment in February: 1,048 fewer unemployed in services
By sectors, unemployment fell in all except in the previously unemployed group, led by Services, which recorded 1,048 fewer unemployed than in January in the Community.
Agriculture closed the second month of 2023 with 78 fewer unemployed, with 235 fewer in industry and 349 in construction.
Unemployment rose in people under 25 years of age
Unemployment dropped both in men, with 1,217 fewer unemployed than in January, to 50,263; with 325 less unemployed women, up to 73,829.
It grew by contrast in the group under 25 years of age, with 234 browns more than in the previous month, up to 9,740.
1,310 permanent contracts more than in January and 294 less temporary
In February, 44,807 contracts were closed in the Community, 1,016 more than the previous month.
Of these, 17,487 were permanent, 1,310 more than the previous month, according to data from the Ministry of Employment collected by EFE.
This means that fewer temporary contracts were made, specifically 294 less than the previous month, up to 27,320.
Of those more than 124,000 unemployed, they received some type of help, with data from January in this case, 74,650 unemployed, with 37,288 contributory benefits, 33,775 subsidies and 3,587 active insertion income.
Contributors rose in all provinces compared to January
Regarding Social Security contributors, they rose in all provinces compared to January, between 0.64 percent in Segovia and 0.63 in Burgos, and 0.23 in Valladolid and 0.24 in Salamanca. EFE
