Madrid, (EFE).- The First Vice President of the Government, Nadia Calviño, held a conversation this morning with the President of Ferrovial, Rafael del Pino, in which she “clearly” expressed her “rejection” for the “wrong” decision to move the company headquarters to the Netherlands.
“I do not share a decision that seems to go against the interest and image of our country”, Calviño has defaced in an interview in La Sexta, at the same time he has especially criticized the “gesture” towards Spain of one of his emblematic companies .
These companies “owe everything to Spain, because they have grown and developed thanks to the contribution of the public sector and all Spanish citizens” and therefore, in his opinion, they would have to “demonstrate their commitment to the country.”
The vice president has defended that the decision “has nothing to do with the Government”, since the company itself has alluded to issues related to the international price of its shares, although the “gesture with respect to Spain” has seemed “rejectable”. ”.
Calviño also pointed out that the decision to move the headquarters is “doubly paradoxical” because it occurs at a time when “Spain is attracting more international investment than ever” and of “unprecedented modernization”.
The PP, in the mouth of its general secretary, Cuca Gamarra, has linked Ferrovial’s decision to move its headquarters to the Netherlands with the “beating” that in its opinion the Government exercises against Spanish companies, which it has asked to respect.
The PP has responded to the criticism of the first vice president, Nadia Calviño, of Ferrovial’s decision, asking the Minister of Economic Affairs to ask herself several questions, such as whether she has done “something to make her stay” or has done “something to push her to have to leave”.
