Oviedo (EFE) electoral list- affiliation for six months and participation in bodies and working groups for two years.
The State Democratic Guarantees Commission of Podemos issued yesterday the expulsion and suspension resolutions that have been announced this Tuesday by the interim coordinator of Podemos Asturies, Rafael Palacios, and the party spokesperson, Ana Taboada, at a press conference in the headquarters of the formation, at whose doors a protest led by Ripa himself and by Fernández Vilanova and by more than twenty like-minded people shouting “We can Asturies is kidnapped” has taken place.
The decision to expel Ripa, executable from its notification and against which an internal appeal is possible within a period of fifteen working days, occurs when it is considered that it has damaged the party’s image through public demonstrations and by maintaining that “it committed serious indiscipline and reiterated” against the decision-making bodies of the party.
The Guarantees Commission maintains that he has committed two very serious faults, two serious faults and two minor faults, a decision that Ripa will appeal.
In the case of Fernández Vilanova, the Podemos body indicated that he acted as a spokesperson “in contacts with different organizations” while he was suspended from affiliation and incurred in the reiteration of “punishable” behaviors.
For his part, Jorge Fernández made “continuous and habitual accusations and attacks on the work of his colleagues, slandering and compromising their good name and being disruptive of political work.”
The management asks Ripa to deliver the minutes
After the expulsion was made public, Palacios has trusted that Ripa will deliver his parliamentary act “immediately”, since he is no longer a deputy of Podemos Asturies.
“The obligation is to deliver the minutes. That is the demand that we make from the management ”, he pointed out in the appearance before the media, in which sympathizers with those expelled were present, some of whom have interrupted the press conference.
Taboada has expressed his “deep sadness” for the sequence of events that have led the formation to this point and has trusted that the measures adopted will serve to put an end to an “unpleasant” stage with “systematic and unreasonable attacks” within the game.
“The sanctions have been determined by an independent body and are rigorously adjusted to the rules that govern our party,” he pointed out in the appearance.
On the other hand, Palacios has stressed that “of course” the Podemos Asturies candidate for the Presidency of the Principality, Covadonga Tomé, “continues to be” the one that will head the list of the purple formation in the May elections.
However, he has assured that meetings have been held and so far “it has been impossible to coordinate” the electoral campaign, for which there have been “complaints” from different territories.
Ripa will appeal and will not deliver the minutes
After learning of the expulsion, Ripa has appeared before the media at the doors of the Podemos headquarters, where he has indicated that he will not deliver the act of deputy since the expulsion procedure is still subject to an appeal.
“You have to wait for the appeal and from there I will act accordingly. I am not here because I have charges or any personal interest. My pulse will not tremble in doing what needs to be done ”, he added.
In this sense, he has asked that a meeting of the parliamentary group be called to address this matter and that a citizens’ assembly be held so that the militants decide on this issue.
“There are people who, if Podemos does badly in the elections, are going to have personal benefits from that. The formation is hijacked. There are more expulsions than confirmed candidacies ”, she underlined.
Likewise, it has considered that the sanction of Jorge Fernández will not alter the electoral list, in which he occupies fourth place.
“This kidnapping has to end once and for all,” said Fernández Vilanova, who has warned that the expulsions are a “montage and a witch hunt.”
He has also assured that Palacios is working “like a Trojan horse” for the president of the Principality, Adrián Barbón, with the aim of “dismantling” the organization. EFE
