Seville, (EFE).- A male Iberian lynx from the Doñana-Aljarafe population has died as a result of a hit-and-run on the road that connects the Sevillian towns of Aznalcázar and Bollullos de la Mitación (Seville), in the surroundings of the Natural Area of Donana.
As reported by EFE on Tuesday, Ecologistas en Acción, the accident took place yesterday Monday and the animal wandered after the blow and then fell dead on the shoulder.
The animal’s corpse has been transferred to the Center for Analysis and Diagnosis of Wildlife (CAD) of the Junta de Andalucía to carry out the necropsy.
After this new run over by an Iberian lynx in the area of Doñana, the environmental organization has called for the adaptation of roads to conserve biodiversity, carry out road education actions in lynx environments and impose sanctions on offenders.
Ecologists in Action makes these requests to the Junta de Andalucía, the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge and the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT).
