Seville (EFE).- Club Atlético Osasuna won 2-3 at Sevilla, a result that strengthens them for next Wednesday’s meeting against Athletic in the semifinals of the Cup and which in turn puts the Sevilla team again close to the abyss of the relegation places after a match in which the visitors were always ahead on the scoreboard.
A goal from David García made it 0-1 in the first half, but the second half was crazy with another four goals, the equalizer from the Serbian Nemanja Gudelj, the 1-2 own goal from the Brazilian Fernando Reges, the new equalizer by the Moroccan Youssef En-Nesyri and the final 2-3 for the Moroccan Ez Abde.
The Navarrese team presented itself without qualifying difficulties in LaLiga and with one eye on Wednesday at El Sadar against Athletic Club, the start of a Copa del Rey seminal that they will face seventeen years later and after getting off a month ago in Pamplona in the quarterfinals of the tournament precisely to Sevilla.
Other circumstances surrounded the game for the Andalusian team, which has won integers in recent weeks in the fight to get away from relegation, thanks above all to the fact that it emerged victorious from its last four LaLiga games in Seville, but which knew several unfavorable results for their interests from this day that had tightened the table at the bottom.
In addition, if the Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bono was dropped last Thursday in the Europa League due to a last-minute illness, on this occasion the one who fell off the entry list shortly before kick-off was the midfielder Joan Jordán, also due to illness.
The first part was from Osasuna
It was difficult for Sevilla to carry the weight of the game because Osasuna jumped onto the field with the intention of not backing down from his goalkeeper, this time Aitor Fernández, and of controlling the midfield to stop a clueless opponent, although it was the Argentine Erik Lamela, on the verge of the first quarter of an hour, the one that made the Navarrese goalkeeper have to deflect the ball for a corner.
Jagoba Arrasate’s team was not frightened by that action and the next time a very solo header from Jon Moncayola also deflected it to a corner kick Bono in a play that continued at the corner kick so that David García, also with his head, did put 0-1 at eighteen minutes.
It could have been worse for local interests shortly after, when the Canarian referee Juan Luis Pulido Santana, after being alerted by the VAR, canceled a second visiting goal when the author, Kike Barja, was offside.
That made Sevilla breathe but did not improve their game, inconsistent in defense and without the necessary speed to overcome the good tactical framework arranged by the rival, with which they saw more danger against Bono than against Aitor Fernández, to the point that already in the prolongation of the first part the Moroccan avoided the 0-2 with a great save to finish off Kike García.
Second half more even
The Sevillian team managed to go to halftime with a single goal against and for the second part the Argentine coach Jorge Sampaoli started his compatriot Marcos Acuña and Suso Fernández for Lamela and the Croatian Ivan Rakitic to find another air.
Thus, two minutes after the restart, En-Nesyri finished off with a header in search of the tie, but now it was Aitor Fernández who made a save to avoid it, although the team did not have much continuity against the rival that did not break down.
Gudelj, after the hour, hit a shot from outside the area, as he already did against Mallorca and Betis in the first round, and achieved the tie, but shortly after Osasuna regained the lead on the scoreboard in an unfortunate play in which Bono cleared badly and hit the back of the Brazilian Fernando Reges so that the ball entered the goal.
En-Nesyri did not want to stop being the protagonist and scored a great goal in a personal move to bring a new tie, although, when Sevilla was looking for a comeback, Ez Abde, who had left very shortly before, achieved the third and final score for Osasuna with very little time for another local reaction.
