Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (EFE).- The Carnival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria already has a sovereign: Lola Ortiz has been crowned the first Carnival Queen as a Festival of International Tourist Interest, with her fantasy “Perfidy of love”, a Design by Sergio Léon and Josep López.
With the warmth of the public embracing her, Lola Ortiz stepped on stage with a powerful bet in red and silver, inspired by the fight and feminine strength, which reinvents itself and rises even after problems, as it has expressed in its presentation. Thousands of sparkles gave birth to a staging in which her dress in her red was a color hit between the blacks and silvers of her design.
Lola Ortiz landed in a Santa Catalina park with full capacity to win, with an award-winning confection on her back from Sergio León Ortega (Drag La Tullida, Drag Queen 2018) and the talent of the winner of the 2022 Body Makeup Gala Josep Lopez Marti.
The Queen of Studio 54
The new Queen of the Carnival of the capital of Gran Canaria has confessed that she is “very happy” to be able to celebrate “a moment that she has been waiting for so long” and to inaugurate a year of reign in which “she will take the party beyond the Canary Islands so that it is known in the entire world”.
Always a Carnival fan, the Queen of Studio 54 (the New York nightclub that Carnival is inspired by this year), has dedicated this crown to the soccer player Luis Ojeda, her boyfriend who died in 2021, who is “an angel” who gives her ” strength from heaven.”
The regent of the Carnival will be accompanied in a year full of events of a royal court that makes up Gara Morales as First Lady; Coral Gutiérrez, as Second Lady; María Santiago, as third Lady; and Paula Santana, as the fourth Lady of Carnival 2023.
The ladies
Gara Morales, First Lady of the Carnival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, has reached the podium with her fantasy “Va por ti”, a design by Kevin Rodríguez and Enrique González in silver and pastel tones that awakened the energy of a Santa Catalina park, who applauded each of his steps.
The second Lady, Coral Gutiérrez, erupted again in Lanzarote with her fantasy “Timanfaya”, a design by Kilian Betancor.
The coronation gala for Reina del Carnal has been an “opening night” with fireworks and a whole display of extras to open the doors of one of the most famous nightclubs in history.
The masters of ceremonies, the model Nieves Álvarez and the journalist Paco Luis Quintana, arrived wrapped up on the dance floor of the temple of transgression from the seventies, packed to celebrate a shared success as a Festival of International Tourist Interest on the 47th anniversary of the recovery of the festival by a group of dreamers from the neighborhood of La Isleta, who changed the course of the Canarian city.
