Kiev, (EFE).- The Ukrainian president, Volodímir Zelenski, described this Thursday as “positive” the mere fact that the Chinese government proposes a plan to end the war in Ukraine, although he affirmed that it is too early to “analyze it ”.
“In general, the fact that China has started talking about Ukraine is very good. These are the first steps and it is not something negative,” Zelenski said in an appearance with the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, in kyiv.
“We will draw conclusions when we see the details,” added the Ukrainian leader.
In addition, he pointed out that it would be desirable for there to be a meeting between the governments in kyiv and Beijing and added that said message has already been sent through diplomatic channels.
The Chinese plan will be known predictably on Friday
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, reported on Tuesday that the head of Chinese diplomacy, Wang Yi, updated him on the main aspects of the Chinese peace plan during the high-level Security Conference that was held last weekend in Munich (Germany).
Kuleba then added that Kiev will examine the text in detail once Beijing makes it public – which will foreseeably happen this Friday, on the first anniversary of the Russian invasion – but advanced that Ukraine’s territorial integrity is not a negotiable aspect.
