Madrid (EFE).- The number of mortgages on homes constituted in Spain in the whole of 2022 stood at 463,614 and grew 10.9%, less than half the 23.8% that increased the previous year, according to data published this Thursday by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
Overall, the capital lent to constitute these loans stood at 67,460.6 million euros after increasing 17.3% year-on-year, while the average amount rose 5.8%, to 145,510 euros.
In December 2022 alone, 30,075 mortgages were signed, 8.8% less than a year earlier, with an average amount of 143,854 euros, 0.4% less, and a loaned capital that fell by 9.2% and remained at 4,326.4 million euros.
