Santander, Feb 22 (EFE).- Twelve forest fires are active this morning in Cantabria, which awaits the arrival of a snow storm starting this evening, which may improve the situation in the mountains of the region, where In this month of February, 164 fires have been “provoked”.
The Government of Cantabria insists that all forest fires that have occurred in the region are “provoked”, and warns of the prohibition of burning in eight of the 13 forest regions into which the autonomous community is divided.
The data provided by the regional Executive, updated at 7:00 a.m., indicates 12 active forest fires in the municipalities of Vega de Pas (3), San Roque de Riomiera (2), Selaya (2), Miera, Los Tojos, Luena, Ruesga and Villacarriedo.
Of those active fires, 9 have been “provoked” since yesterday afternoon, according to the same sources.
