Madrid/Oviedo (EFE).- The Asturian industry increased its turnover in 2022 by an average of 20.1 percent compared to the previous year, according to data published this Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
This increase occurred despite the fact that sales fell by 9.9 percent in the interannual rate in December, the only decrease among the autonomous communities.
In the country as a whole, industry turnover increased by 20.6% on average in 2022 compared to the previous year, which represents the largest increase in the interannual rate since the INE series began in 2002 .
Without taking into account the differences in the calendar, industrial turnover grew by 21.4% last year.
Only in December 2022, the turnover in the industry improved by 8.6% in relation to the same month in 2021 (14.5% more in seasonally adjusted data), although it is the lowest interannual rate since October 2021.
Since last August, industry turnover has gradually moderated its growth, from 27% in that summer month to the aforementioned 8.6% in December.
The largest increase in billing during 2022 occurred in the energy sector, with an average annual increase of 80%.
All the markets also presented positive annual rates, with special relief in the interior (22.9% more).
In the whole of last year, the turnover rate increased in all communities, with more incidence in Murcia (41.1% more), the Balearic Islands (25.9%) and the Basque Country (25.6%).
The smallest average increases occurred in La Rioja (11.3%), Galicia (14.3%) and Catalonia (15.7%). EFE
