Santander, (EFE).- Cantabria has registered up to 33 forest fires this Tuesday spread over the mountains of 14 municipalities in the region.
Of these forest fires, at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 12 are still active, one of them is stabilized and four have been controlled.
As reported by the Government of Cantabria, all these fires have been caused, at a time when burning is prohibited due to the rise in temperatures and the wind that blows in Cantabria.
The municipality most affected by these forest fires has been Vega de Pas.
The rest have been located in Vega de Pas, Soba, Luena, Miera, San Roque de Riomiera, Selaya, Mollledo, Los Tojos, Riotuerto, Ruesga, Ruente, San Pedro del Romeral, Valderredible and Villacarriedo.
More than 150 fires in February
The vast majority of the fires have been located in high areas and the most important have been in Valdició, Saja and Luena.
And most of the fires have been registered in the mountains of Cantabria at night.
In the 21 days that have taken place in February, 155 fires have been recorded, which the Government of Cantabria insists have been provoked.
