The Albacete City Council creates a commission to investigate alleged leaks
The plenary session of the Albacete City Council has approved this Monday the creation of a commission to investigate the alleged leaks in the tests of access to the Local Police.
The proposal, at the request of the PP, has been supported by all the political groups after a debate with many criticisms of the management of the matter by the government team, where the opposition has considered that there has been a “lack of transparency”, something that has denied the Councilor for Human Resources, María José López (PSOE).
PP councilor Alberto Reina explained that, with the commission, his party wants “it to have the task of investigating the facts and promptly informing all councilors of the proceedings.”
They ask that the Commission not be chaired by a member of the government team
He has requested that the commission have the same composition as the information commissions of the City Council, with the presence of a secretary and a lawyer from the municipal service, and has demanded that the presidency of the same not fall to any councilor of the Government team.
During the debate it has been put on the table that the mayor himself, Emilio Sáez, was the one who denounced the alleged leak in the second examination of the tests that were now being carried out, a case that the Consistory took to the Prosecutor’s Office and on which there are open errands.
In addition, María Jóse López has defended that “the government team, from the first moment that it was aware, has acted diligently, forcefully and transparently to preserve the transparency of the process.”
As well as that it has been ordered to “investigate the alleged leak and determine its scope.”
At the end of the interventions, Sáez has taken the floor to also defend his management, which has generated criticism in the opposition.
