Düsseldorf (Germany) (EFE).- Rose Monday (Rosenmontag) is the high point of the carnival season in many German cities.
It is celebrated in areas of Catholic tradition and is a continuation of ancient Roman festivities in which slaves and servants were masters for a day.
Float parades are held in the participating cities, where current affairs are humorously discussed. During the parade sweets and tulips are distributed.
