Mexico City (EFE).- The president of Mexico Andrés Manuel López Obrador, confirmed this Monday that the electric car company Tesla will install a plant in the country, but warned that he will speak with his top manager, the tycoon Elon Musk, to define its exact location.
“It is very good news. We thank this company for deciding to settle in our country. Mexico is one of the countries, if not the first place, (which) is among the three countries with the most opportunities for foreign investment and for the creation of companies, ”he declared in his daily press conference.
The president made this announcement after spreading last week that he will speak with Musk amid the controversy because the federal government wants him to settle near the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), a priority work for López Obrador, but the government of the northern state of Nuevo León pretends to be the destination.
