Barcelona, (EFE) and the resignation of Jordi Pesarrodona as Vice President.
According to sources from the pro-independence entity, the meeting of the national secretariat, held in a social venue in the Poble Nou neighborhood of Barcelona, has concluded without being able to avoid the internal fracture.
In total, 13 members of the national secretariat, of the 72 that make up this management body, have decided to leave it, although they remain in the entity; while Vice President Jordi Pesarrodona leaves his position, but will continue in the secretariat.
Both the 13 members who have left the national secretariat and Pesarrodona belong to the sector critical of the civic list proposal advocated by the official sector, headed by the current president of the ANC, Dolors Feliu.
questioned democracy
The thirteen resigners and Pesarrodona also question the internal democracy that exists in the entity, although on this issue ANC sources have pointed out that there has been a will to bring positions closer and redress disagreements.
This will has not finally prevented the departure of members of the critical sector of the national secretariat, but a resolution proposal has been approved that includes the commitment of the national secretariat “with the values of internal democracy and dialogue” within the Assembly, along the lines of “improving relations and internal functioning”.
This proposal has been approved by a large majority, with 40 votes in favor, 8 against and 8 blank.
Dolors Feliu, has affirmed, in a statement to channel 3/24-TV3, that he is not considering resigning and, that although “there has been an effort at conciliation”, this “has not been enough” to prevent resignations.
