Four other detainees on provisional release
In addition, the magistrate has received two other detainees in relation to these events. For them she has decreed provisional release with the obligation to appear once a week in court. They are being investigated for alleged cooperation or cover-up of the aforementioned crimes.
Finally, two other people involved in the same event have also appeared before the judge, in this case as investigated but not arrested for the crime of concealment. They are a man and a woman who had been arrested at first and who were later released by the security forces themselves after appearing at the police headquarters.
With respect to these last two investigated, there was no place to adopt any resolution regarding their personal situation as they had voluntarily appeared in court already in a situation of freedom.
The judicial case is declared secret and the magistrate on duty has agreed to refrain from the proceedings in favor of the Court of First Instance and Instruction 1 of Nules, as this body was the one on duty when the events occurred and had therefore opened prior proceedings previously.
The five detainees for their alleged involvement in the death, last Monday in the Castellón town of Vall d’Uixò of a 28-year-old woman who was pregnant, had been brought before the courts this morning.
The baby of the deceased woman was able to survive
The woman, who was 37 weeks pregnant, was admitted to the Valencia Clinical Hospital alive, where she underwent an emergency caesarean section that managed to save the baby. Shortly after she passed away.
The woman’s boyfriend arrested this Thursday was joined by four other detainees. The Civil Guard pointed out that the motive for this event would be related to a discussion in which two shots were fired, one of which accidentally hit the woman, so in principle it is not considered a sexist crime.
One of the detainees is the woman’s boyfriend, who is accused of a crime of homicide and another of illegal possession of weapons.
Two other detainees are considered necessary collaborators and the remaining two are charged with a crime of concealing homicide, the sources have indicated, adding that the investigations by the Civil Guard judicial police are still open.
An event that occurred on Monday in the Carbonaire neighborhood
The event occurred around 11 pm last Monday in the Carbonaire neighborhood of the Castellón town of Vall d’Uixó, where a discussion and a fight began in the street in which a group of people participated.
The deceased, 28 years old and Lithuanian nationality, was initially transferred to a local health center and later, in critical condition, transferred to the Clinical Hospital of Valencia, where a caesarean section was performed to save the baby, who is admitted to the same center and stable. Shortly after, her mother died.
Apparently, during the brawl two shots were fired without the victim being the target, so, a priori, the event is not being investigated as a macho assault, but rather it is considered that the shot, which could have been carried out by the victim’s partner, could be accidental.
Last Thursday the woman was buried in the municipality of Faura (Valencia), where she lived for years. A large number of people attended the funeral and the town, for safety reasons, canceled the children’s carnival at CEIP Sant Vicent Ferrer (annexed to the cemetery) and other school activities. Shortly after the deceased’s partner was arrested.
