Kranj (Slovenia) (EFE) , and was “proud” of the work of all his ministers.
Sánchez made this defense of his government in the press conference that he shared with his Slovenian counterpart, Robert Golob, after the meeting that both held as part of the tour of the head of government to prepare for the European presidency of the EU.
A press conference in which Golob acknowledged the management of the Spanish Government in the field of women’s rights.
“You are an example at a European level. You are not aware in Spain. In Slovenia we would be very satisfied if we were to reach a level of rights like in Spain”, she pointed out.
The journalists asked Sánchez if he is not concerned about the consequences that the discrepancies between the PSOE and Podemos may have due to what is known as the law of only yes is yes and how he values the work of his Minister for Equality, Irene Montero.
In his response, he assumed that there may be differences, but he made a claim to everything “much and very important” that his Executive has done.
The trans law and the reform of the abortion law
As an example of this, he cited the approval in Congress this Thursday of the trans law and the reform of the abortion law, which he said continue to place Spain at the forefront in the recognition of rights and freedoms of citizens and, especially, of women.
But in addition to highlighting what the coalition government has promoted, he assured that it still has a lot to do.
Regarding the Law on the Comprehensive Guarantee of Sexual Freedom, he stressed that maintaining consent at the heart of the law is compatible with resolving the social alarm that has been caused.
“These two objectives are not incompatible, but rather they are complementary, and that is where the government and the socialist group are,” he stressed.
But despite the existing discrepancies, Sánchez reiterated his support for all his ministers and was proud of the work of all of them.
He recalled that when they promised their positions, he told them that they were not ministers of one party or another, but ministers of Spain, and as such he assured that they will continue working.
“We are going to continue doing it and we have a lot to do,” repeated the Prime Minister, who the day before called on Podemos to make public its alternative proposal to the PSOE initiative to reform the law of only yes is yes and opted for solve the problem instead of generating “noise”.
