“Far from fulfilling its international duties, the Nicaraguan government continues to practice State terrorism, sophisticating its repressive methods, leaving human rights defenders stateless, many of them with precautionary measures,” denounced that coalition in a statement. .
“The Ortega-Murillo regime, under the guise of treason, even without a trial and with a total lack of due process, has deepened its violative practices in the eyes of international organizations, rights institutions, and multilateral spaces,” warned.
The Nicaragua Fight Coalition recalled “that nationality constitutes an irrevocable right of all people, and its arbitrary deprivation, even more so as a sanction for political reasons, is contrary to international human rights law.”

The Nicaraguan authorities stripped another 94 Nicaraguans of their nationality on Wednesday, bringing the total to 317 in the last week, including Bishop Rolando Álvarez, sentenced to more than 26 years in prison after refusing an exile from the Ortega government to the territory US.
