Logroño, (EFE).- The regional government has guaranteed this Wednesday the compensation of 850,000 euros that it has granted to the young woman who was exchanged at the San Millán de Logroño Hospital, when she was born, in 2001, and who asked the Executive for a claim .
In this sense, their spokesperson, Alex Dorado, and the Minister of Health, María Somalo, have spoken after learning that the plaintiff’s lawyer, José Sáez Morga, has informed EFE this Wednesday that the insurer of the Riojano Health Service ( SERIS) only has deposited 215,000 euros in the account of the legal proceedings for this concept.
The lawyer has assured that he ignores “the content of the contacts and positions that may have existed between the Administration and the insurer, within the framework of their joint and several liability.”
The Minister of Health has said that her department has once again required the SERIS insurance company to “immediately” make the total amount of 850,000 euros available to the plaintiff.
These 850,000 euros, he recalled, is the amount that appears in the administrative resolution issued by the Ministry of Health to the claim raised by the plaintiff.
He has also said that his department has asked the insurer for explanations as to why it has only consigned the 215,000 euros, which we “understand” is the amount with which this company is satisfied.
However, by administrative resolution, the La Rioja government agreed that the compensation would be 850,000 euros, Somalo has insisted. EFE
