In it, he pleads for a rapid clarification of the denounced facts.
The National Police have arrested this Tuesday, in collaboration with the Civil Guard, twelve people accused of crimes of bribery and influence peddling, including the former Director General of Livestock of the Government of the Canary Islands Taishet Fuentes and the General of the Civil Guard Francisco Javier Espinosa Navas, already retired.
Also being investigated in the alleged corruption plot is the PSOE deputy in Congress for Las Palmas Juan Bernardo Fuentes, uncle of Taishet Fuentes and predecessor of the latter in the position of general director of Livestock of the Canary Islands.
Sources close to the investigation have told EFE that it is an operation that is still open on alleged irregularities in the management of European subsidies linked to food products.
The Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands has confirmed that the proceedings are supervised by the Investigating Court number 4 of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and that, of the twelve arrests, two have been made on the islands and ten in other Spanish provinces.
Agents of the Provincial Brigade of the Judicial Police of Tenerife, in collaboration with the Internal Affairs unit of the Civil Guard, carry out this operation, in which, for the moment, thirteen searches are planned in several Canary Islands, as well as in other points of the peninsula.
Taishet Fuentes was dismissed from his duties as director of Livestock in the Canary Islands last June due to a loss of confidence, but he was going to be the PSOE candidate for mayor of Antigua (Fuerteventura) in the upcoming May elections. EFE
