Madrid (EFE).- Thousands of people took to the streets this Sunday in several Spanish cities to defend public health and protest against the health policy of their regional governments with a common denominator, the rejection of the “cuts” in Primary Care .
Some 250,000 people have gathered in Madrid, according to data from the Government Delegation in the region, and one million people, according to the organizers, with the aim of protesting against the “dismantling” and “privatization” of Primary Care that , in his opinion, is being perpetrated by the Madrid president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

The center of Santiago hosts thousands of protesters
Santiago de Compostela has also been the scene of massive mobilizations this Sunday with a demonstration that has brought together more than 50,000 people, according to the organization, and 22,000, according to the Local Police, against the health policy of the Xunta de Galicia and to defend health public and primary care.
Convened by the SOS Sanidade Pública platform and supported by institutions, parties, unions and entities from all over Galicia, the protest was held behind the banner “Na defensa e mellora da sanidade pública. We want primary care for us”.
The objective, according to the spokesperson for the SOS Public Health platform Manuel Martín, has been to cry out against the “impossible mix of incapacity and privatizing intention” of the Xunta in health matters.
Burgos calls for public and quality Primary Care
In Burgos, 11,000 people, according to the Local Police, have joined the demands of Madrid and Galicians and have also asked that the Burgos University Hospital be recovered for the public, instead of the current service concession model not assistance.
