The organizers hope to repeat the success of the mobilization on November 13, 2022, in which between 200,000 people participated, according to the Government Delegation in Madrid, and 670,000, according to the organizers.
The march has received the support of the parties of the Madrid left, unions and different citizen organizations, as well as representatives of the world of culture, such as Rozalén, Carlos Bardem, Juan Diego Botto, Antonio de la Torre, Anabel Alonso, Hugo Silva , Juan Echanove and Alberto San Juan, among others.
The demonstration has been communicated to the Government Delegation in Madrid by the Popular Solidarity Network of Latina and Carabanchel and various social and neighborhood groups.
It will begin at 12:00 noon in four columns that will start from Nuevos Ministerios (north), Plaza de España (west), La Princesa hospital (east) and Plaza de Legazpi (south) to meet at Plaza de Cibeles .
There, next to the Madrid City Council headquarters, a stage will be set up where a manifesto will be read and the organizers will intervene.
One of the coordinators, José Luis Yuguero, has called on all social movements to join the march to defend “the right to public, universal and quality healthcare”, while stressing that the demonstration “is not political”. , but “part of the citizenry”.
At the event, they will show their support for the Family doctors and pediatricians of Madrid’s Primary Care, who are on an indefinite strike promoted by the Amyts union since last November 21, to demand a minimum of ten minutes per patient, a limitation of agendas and an improvement in the working conditions of professionals to prevent them from fleeing to other regions or countries.
Three months after November 13, “the situation has worsened”, so that “neighbors of the neighborhoods and towns of Madrid” have decided to go out again to end “the precariousness” of Primary Care and of the out-of-hospital emergencies that are currently called Continuous Care Points, has indicated Emilio Grande, from the pensioners’ group.
For her part, the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has said that this Sunday there is a new demonstration under the pretext of “public health” and has charged against the “political strike, which is what we are suffering in Madrid for a few months ».
The Minister of Health, Enrique Ruiz Escudero, has opined that “you only have to analyze the reason for the call, who is calling and one draws the very clear conclusions that it is a purely political demonstration, as was the one that took place a few months ago.”
