Roberto Ruiz Oliva I Granada, (EFE) little ones, can give free rein to love on the occasion of the celebration of Saint Valentine.
That is why a municipality in the metropolitan area of Granada, that of Vegas del Genil – a municipality that also holds the particular record of having one of the youngest average age in all of Andalusia, barely 35 years old – has decided to make it easier for them. to those parents who want to go out to dinner on the occasion of what is known as Valentine’s Day.
Ahead of the date of Valentine’s Day to make it coincide with this weekend, the consistory -through the Department of Education- has organized on February 10 and 11 and from 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.- a night camp called “CampaVegas Cupid”.
A quiet night without children
Aimed at boys and girls between the ages of 3 and 15, this particular initiative aims to “give quarters” to those lovebirds in the town who want to enjoy – at least for one night – some real quiet time as a couple.
Thanks to this free initiative, which is housed in the Alhambra room in the Ambroz district, a group of monitors ensures that the little ones can “leave their parents alone” for a few hours, and that they can have fun freely his way.
In addition to the possibility of having dinner, in the case of children “CampaVegas Cupido” offers workshops, laser battles, mats and even a sleep corner for the sleepiest, where these little ones can fall into the arms of Morpheus until their parents pick them up.
“It’s not that our children get in the way, we’ve always taken them with us everywhere, but a little truce as parents is always very good,” Jennifer Ibáñez, married, with two offspring aged 3 and 10, explained to EFE. that she did not hesitate to enroll them in this camp, when she conveyed the idea to both her husband and the eldest of her children: “We are all delighted,” she said.
Ten years without celebrating Valentine’s Day as a couple
As surprising as it may seem, it had been a whole decade -since her first child was born- without celebrating Valentine’s Day alone with her partner -in this case her husband- and last night, she was finally able to go out to town for something to eat and then both stay at home to quietly watch a movie.
“I thought it was the best idea in the world, they would have to do it at least once a month,” joked Ibáñez, who knows well how stressful it can be more times than desirable to reconcile family life and also as a couple.
The mayor of Vegas del Genil, Leandro Martín, has explained to EFE that this initiative is precisely part of the family reconciliation program that, for years, the city council has carried out to help its neighbors as much as possible.
The enormous acceptance of this municipal camp, which completes the second of its sessions this Saturday, is demonstrated in figures: it has exhausted all its available places, 110, 55 per day. A success that shows that many couples in love were looking forward to having a truce as parents for Valentine’s Day. EFE
