Brussels (EFE).- The Ukrainian president, Volodímir Zelenski, assured this Thursday before the leaders of the European Union (EU) that his country has intercepted a “plan for the destruction of Moldova” from the Russian intelligence services and told the Parliament that «Ukraine will be a member of the European Union».
“Our freedom is in danger,” Zelensky asserted during his speech at the summit of EU heads of state and government, whom he asked for “quick and reliable decisions” after warning of Russia’s “subversive activities” in Europe.
After previously addressing the plenary session of the European Parliament, Zelenski participated as a guest in the European Council, where he thanked the community leaders for the different support packages for Ukraine that they have been approving since Russia invaded their country almost a year ago.
Precisely in his speech before the European Parliament, the Ukrainian leader said that “we are getting closer to the European Union, Ukraine will be a member of the European Union”, amid applause from the extraordinary plenary session of this chamber.
