In the new Palace of Exhibition and Congress of Seville (Fibes) the preparations are already finalized for the 37th edition of the gala that, like the one held in 2019, will bring together almost three thousand attendees, while in the central Avenida de la Constitución remains the photographic exhibition that collects stellar moments in the history of Spanish film awards.
Tonight and tomorrow, Friday night, images of the films nominated in this edition will be screened on the Macarena Walls and on the front of Triana on the Guadalquivir riverbed, while trailers of the nominated films.
Several “cabezones” around the city
The award statuette, which reproduces the head of the painter Goya, is already familiar among the Sevillians because since last week several large replicas of those affectionately known in the film world have been distributed in various parts of the city. bigheads».
During these days, and until the same Saturday, the residents and visitors of Seville, have been able to photograph themselves next to a replica of the Goya Award in an exact recreation of the “photocall” of this edition, through which both nominees and guests to the great Spanish movie night.
Since last Monday, some of the films nominated for the Goya have been screened in the Nervión Plaza cinemas -where the European Film Festival is also shown every November- in sessions that have sold out, while Yesterday, Wednesday, the special projections for a thousand Sevillian schoolchildren began.
The Reales Alcázares de Sevilla, the most visited monumental complex in the city, has opened its doors so that, through free guided tours, you can visit the most emblematic film locations of this historic complex, which is the oldest active royal house in Europe, where “The Life of Christopher Columbus” was filmed in 1916 and in recent years such popular series as “Game of Thrones”.

Under the heading of «I am Seville. I am cinema», meetings are being held these days with Goya Award winners such as directors Alberto Rodríguez or Benito Zambrano, screenwriter Rafael Cobos, producer Gervasio Iglesias, actress Ana Fernández, art director Pepe Domínguez, sound engineer Daniel de Zayas and the editor José Manuel García Moyano.
Nominees in the categories of production management, original music, wardrobe, makeup and hairdressing have also participated in the meetings, such as Manuela Ocón, Manolo Limón, Pablo Cervantes, Lourdes Fuentes, Rocío Montero, Yolanda Piña and Félix Torrero.
In these meetings, the stories, ins and outs and anecdotes of just over two decades of cinema have been reviewed, from the mythical “Solas”, by Benito Zambrano, released twenty-five years ago and the first local production to get a Goya -it got it in the year 2000 a total of five awards from the eleven categories in which it was nominated-, up to the most recent “Modelo 77”, by Alberto Rodríguez, nominated in this edition for 16 Goya Awards.
The French actress Juliette Binoche, who will be distinguished in this edition with the Goya International, will star in a meeting at the Real Alcázar on Saturday at noon, after tomorrow afternoon she will star in a press conference with specialist film informants who have attended to Seville, a city that takes advantage of the occasion to offer itself as a film set.
