Valencia (EFE) yes is yes or the Bejís train incident.
During the control session with the president in Les Corts Valencianes, the PP trustee, María José Catalá, has denounced the “so meek and painful” silence that Puig maintains on issues such as the Oltra case, the Bejís train, the Azud case or the consequences of the law of only yes is yes.
The president has focused on answering the question registered by the popular leader, in which he asked her if she believes that the political, economic and social situation “is what Valencians deserve.”
Better conditions than in 2015
In this regard, Puig has assured that despite the difficulties and the “lack of cooperation” that the PP often shows, the Valencian Community is in better conditions than in 2015, and “in better conditions than ever” and “eager to » to face the future.
He has highlighted that Social Security affiliates have gone from 1.6 million in June 2015 to 2.04 million in January 2023; the unemployment rate has dropped from 23% to 13.5%, and in the case of young people, from 38.1% to 24.9%, and contract workers have increased by 41%.
Exports have grown by 61%,1 between 2014 and 2022 (from 22,559 million to 33,372 million); foreign investment has done so by 120% (from 2,347 million to 5,159), without counting the investment planned by Volkswagen; and the creation of companies has gone from -28,000 between 2008 and 2015 to 9,100 between 2015 and 2022.
In addition, it has highlighted that the recipients of the Valencian Inclusion Income and the Minimum Vital Income have gone from 42,177 in 2015 to 266,351 in 2022, and the beneficiaries of the dependency have grown from 41,000 to 135,154.
Regarding the transfer of Tagus Segura, he has indicated that between 2014 and 2018, 829.6 cubic hectometres (hm3) were transferred, while between 2018 and 2022, there have been 1,229 hm3.
This is the reality of the Valencian Community, according to Puig, who has considered that the PP “the truth hurts in its soul”, and has stated that what the Valencians do not deserve is “to return to the time of corruption, mismanagement and abandonment to the Valencians at the worst moment» that represents the legacy of the PP.
The PP reproaches him for talking about corruption “without mentioning Azud”
Català has reproached the president for daring to speak of corruption “without mentioning the Azud case”, and has asked him if he can come out and say that the PSPV has not been financed irregularly, that percentages have not come out of the desalination plants for his party or that there has been no corruption in the electoral campaigns of the PSPV.
He has stated that “the shadow of Pepe Catalunya – former PSPV treasurer accused in the Azud case – reaches all the administrations that manage” the Socialists, and has asked if they are buying his silence and that of his environment.
He has also criticized the management of the incident involving the train that was cornered by the flames in Bejís, and has asked if the Minister of Justice, Gabriela Bravo, is considering resigning over this matter.
In addition, she has asked why “a government that calls itself feminist is taking so long” to demand that the law of only yes is yes be changed, which has reduced the sentences for more than 500 sexual offenders, 55 of them in the Valencian Community.
At the beginning of the session, both Puig and Catalá remembered the president of CSIF, Alicia Torres, wife of Corts vice president Jorge Bellver, who died this Wednesday, after which the PP trustee welcomed the baby to the chamber of the deputy of Unides Podem Naiara Davó.
