“I don’t care if the trains are smaller or bigger, it still sounds just as absurd to me,” he pointed to questions from journalists at a press conference, after the meeting held yesterday between the General Secretary for Infrastructure, Xavier Flores, and the directors responsible for railway and mobility matters in Cantabria and Asturias.
Barbón, who has described the management of this matter by the Government as a “communicative botch”, has indicated that the tunnels already have “certain years to be known”.
Asturias and Cantabria design a “common position”
The president of the Principality and that of Cantabria, Miguel Ángel Revilla, will hold a meeting with the minister of the branch Raquel Sánchez on the 20th in which they will take a “totally common position”.
In that meeting, Barbón will raise the purification of responsibilities and, in this sense, he has said that he believes that the ministry “will reach the limit.”
It will also ask for compensation, so that more trains are built or some improvements are included, and deadlines, with a “different planning”, so that “they go on route” as they are operational.
«The positions of Asturias and Cantabria are clearly demanding, but not demagogic. You cannot do political demagogy”, he pointed out on an issue that has led the Executive to “indignation, disappointment and anger”. EFE
