Logroño, (EFE).- The indefinite strike of justice administration lawyers, former judicial secretaries, has already paralyzed some 18,000 proceedings in La Rioja.
The lawyers of the administration of justice have concentrated at the door of the Palace of Justice in Logroño with the banner “We demand that the Ministry of Justice comply with the signed agreements. Llop resignation. Tontxu resignation” and the posters “For dignity. For justice. For equality” and “Without lawyers = Justice stopped”.
The delegate in La Rioja of the Unión Progresista de Letrados de la Administración de Justicia (UPSJ), Judit González Barriales, has reminded EFE that this group has been unemployed since January 24, with a daily follow-up that ranges from 90 and 92 percent.
This protest is called to demand salary and labor improvements from the Government, in accordance with the new functions that have been attributed to them after successive legal reforms, according to the agreements reached with the Ministry of Justice last April.
He specified that in the 12 days of the strike almost 800 trials have been suspended in La Rioja and 18,000 proceedings have been paralyzed, including 300 prison surveillance.
384 bankruptcy proceedings have also been stopped, there are 30,000 euros withheld for February alimony that have not been distributed and consignments worth 1.5 million euros that are withheld.
In La Rioja, his strike does not affect the celebration of civil weddings, since magistrates can celebrate them without the presence or signature of the justice administration lawyer, he has qualified.
The 30 justice administration lawyers will continue their indefinite strike and plan to meet every Wednesday at noon at the door of the Palace of Justice. EFE
