The Hague (EFE) “strong indications” published today by the international team (JIT) investigating this tragedy.
“After the separatists requested longer-range anti-aircraft weapons, their request was discussed at the Presidential Administration in Moscow in the second half of June 2014,” said the JIT, which draws these conclusions from official documents and conversations intercepted in the days prior to the MH17 tragedy, which left 298 dead.
The JIT assured that “there is concrete information” that “the request of the separatists to the president” was presented, although “it is unknown if it explicitly mentioned a BUK system”, but what is clear is that the decision “was positive” and “Shortly after, the heavy air defense systems are delivered, including the BUK which later shot down the MH17.”
