Madrid, (EFE).- Spain ends this Wednesday the use of masks in transport after just over a thousand days in which it was mandatory, a decision that came into force after being approved yesterday by the Council of Ministers at a time when in which the health impact of covid-19 is at its lowest for the entire pandemic.
Yesterday, the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, explained that this measure, published first thing in the Official State Gazette (BOE), represents “one more step” in the response that Spain has been giving based on the epidemiological situation, although Its use will continue to be recommended in transport for vulnerable people and those with symptoms of respiratory infection.
In this sense, the Spanish Epidemiology Society has encouraged not to rule out its use, because it continues to be a particularly recommended tool for people who have respiratory symptoms compatible with covid-19, flu, colds, and other respiratory infections.
In the same way, the Platform of Patient Organizations has asked this Tuesday that “vulnerable people are not forgotten” and calls for prudence “given the time of year in which we find ourselves, very conducive to the increase in infections respiratory”. EFE
