Motril (Granada), (EFE) (Granada), the Civil Guard and the 112 emergency coordination center have informed EFE.
The traffic accident, consisting of a road exit, collision with a bionda and overturning, occurred at 9:00 a.m. at kilometer 903,500 of the aforementioned highway, and caused a total cut in the direction of Almería during the intervention of the emergency services.
Civil Guard personnel have worked at the scene together with the Motril firefighters, who had to free two of those affected when they were trapped in the vehicle after the incident.
Injured pending examination
Health sources have informed EFE that the Santa Ana de Motril Hospital has treated eight people between the ages of 11 and 60, all of them occupants of the damaged vehicle.
These are three women and five men, one of them deceased, while another with multiple fractures has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The rest of the injured have milder multiple injuries and are awaiting several examinations at the hospital.
The occupants of the van are apparently citizens of Moroccan nationality from Algeciras (Cádiz), where they arrived by ferry, and who would travel in the direction of Almería to Valencia.
Although the accident forced an alternative detour along the N-340, traffic has been restored on the A-7 motorway after noon, with only the right lane cut off. EFE
