Vigo, Feb 8 (EFE).- Celta made official this Wednesday the incorporation of the Brazilian goalkeeper Diego Alves, who signs a contract for the remainder of the season after passing the medical examination he underwent this afternoon in Vigo.
The goalkeeper from Rio de Janeiro, who was without a team after ending his relationship with Flamengo on December 31, arrives in Balaídos to replace the loss of Argentine Agustín Marchesín, who will be away from the pitch for nearly eight months after suffering a tear of the Achilles tendon.
Alves, 37, has experience in LaLiga after passing through UD Almería (125 games) and Valencia (178). In addition, he has the best historical record in the competition stopping penalties (22 during the ten seasons he played in the First Division).
The new Celta goalkeeper, who will fight for ownership with Iván Villar, will be presented tomorrow at 09:30 am at the Afouteza sports complex, in Mos.
