Chicago (USA) (EFE).- Klay Thompson directed the victory of the Golden State Warriors over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday with 42 points and twelve triples, in a day in which the Brooklyn Nets fell against Los Angeles Clippers in their first game after the official signing of Kyrie Irving by the Dallas Mavericks.
Warrios 141-Thunder 114
Without Steph Curry, who will be out for several weeks with a left leg injury that partially affected his ligaments, the Warriors sank the Thunder with 26 three-pointers, twelve of them the work of Klay Thompson.
Klay thus joined Curry as the only players in NBA history capable of adding such a record twice. The absolute record for triples in the American league belongs to Thompson himself (14 in 2018), followed by Zach LaVine’s thirteen in 2019 and Curry’s in 2016.
It was the second consecutive victory for the Warriors, who occupy the seventh position in the West (28-26).
Nets 116-Clippers 124
In their first game without Irving and with Kevin Durant’s well-known loss due to injury, the Nets surrendered to the Clippers despite 47 points from an extraordinary Cam Thomas.
Thomas, at 21, became the second youngest player in history to link two games adding 40 or more points, after Lebron James and ahead of Kevin Durant.
For the Clippers, Paul George chipped in 29 points while Kawhi Leonard had 24.
Jazz 111-Mavericks 124
Without Irving or Doncic, the Mavericks sealed a solid victory in the field of the Jazz led by 29 points from Josh Green and Jaden Hardy, on a night in which Dwith Powell signed a double double of twelve points and 16 rebounds.
The Mavericks made official hours before the start of the game the arrival of Irving and Markieff Morris in exchange for Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney Smith and three draft picks.
The Texans will return to the track this Wednesday in Los Angeles against the Clippers, in which it could mark the debut of Irving.
Pistons 99-Celtics 111
The Celtics, leaders of the East, left behind the defeat at home against the Suns with a victory in the field of the Pistons pushed by the double double of 34 points and eleven rebounds by Jayson Tatum.
Derrick White also excelled, with 23 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, and Robert Williams, who sealed a double double of fifteen points and fifteen rebounds.
Blazers 108-Bucks 127
Brook López, with 27 points and nine rebounds, and the Greek Giannis Antetokounmpo, with 24 points, thirteen rebounds and eight assists, gave the Bucks the eighth consecutive victory to continue putting pressure on the Celtics.
Giannis won the particular duel to Lillard, both chosen as players of the week respectively in the East and the West. The Blazers leader scored 28 points and hit a spectacular triple from the center of the track, but his Blazers are still without continuity and are out of the ‘play-in’ zone.
Wizards 91-Cavaliers 114
Without the Spanish Ricky Rubio, who is not playing the games on consecutive days to avoid overloads after his cross injury, the Cavaliers triumphed forcefully in the Wizards field with an excellent team performance, led by Darius Garland’s 23 points and Jarrett Allen.
Donovan Mitchell contributed 21 points for some Cavaliers who are fifth in the East (34-22). The Wizards, without Kyle Kuzma, suffered their third straight loss.
Bulls 128-Spurs 104
Andre Drummond overwhelmed the Spurs with 21 points and fifteen rebounds in twenty minutes on the court and inflicted the ninth consecutive loss on Gregg Popovich’s team.
The Bulls sealed their fourth win in the last five games and settled in playoff positions in the East, while the Spurs are sunk in the penultimate position in the West.
Rockets 120-Kings 140
Keegan Murray signed the best performance of his career, with thirty points and eight triples in the victory of the Kings in the field of the Rockets. The Californian team overwhelmed the Texans with up to 21 three-point baskets and more than 50% success from the arc.
In the Rockets, the worst team in the NBA this year, the Spanish Usman Garuba barely spent 2.27 minutes on the court and scored three points with one assist.
