The fleet was presented this Monday at an event held at the Alimerka Logistics Center, in an event in which the head of the Asturian Executive, Adrián Barbón, and the president of the distribution company, Alejandro Fernández, participated.
In addition, the sustainable commitment of the Asturian company will be complemented by another 21 hybrid trucks and 33 liquefied natural gas-LNG trucks, from the manufacturers Scnania and Man, becoming a much more efficient fleet, as Fernández stressed.

Barbón highlights his bet on being at the “cutting edge”
For his part, Barbón has indicated that “there is no other way than sustainability” and has stressed that “in the next decade” Asturias must make it a priority to maintain this commitment in order to grow as a region.
In this sense, the President of the Principality has stressed that the region must offer quality products that are sustainable, with measures to prevent climate change and not compromise the future of the new generations.
He has indicated that Alimerka’s commitment to the “future” must be valued for being at the “vanguard” of sustainable activity, for which “it has been recognized among the ten Spanish companies considered exemplary for their commitment to the climate” through of the Ecodes 10+10 initiative.
It has also highlighted that the Ministry of Ecological Transition has distinguished the Asturian company with its triple seal that accredits its efforts in terms of reducing and compensating the CO2 footprint, with a reduction of 80 percent since 2017.
The president recalled that Alimerka is the “most important private company in Asturias”, with employability of more than 6,000 people and with more than 160 establishments.
Finally, the head of the Asturian Executive has pointed out the commitment to food sovereignty of this company from its position for its own production and its participation in the Alimentos del Paraíso quality brand.
