Pamplona (EFE).- The Navarra Health Platform, which brings together different groups, unions, professionals and users in defense of quality public and universal healthcare, has warned of the requirement of the Medical Union (SMN) to eliminate the exclusivity of the exercise of their profession in the public system.
It has been in a concentration, seconded by several hundred people, before the headquarters of the Department of Health, where they have shown several banners with slogans of support for exclusivity and rejection of privatization in health.

They have also read a statement, in which they have shown their “total disagreement” with the proposal of the Medical Union of Navarra (SMN), on strike to demand this and other wage claims, to request the elimination of exclusivity, but they have also criticized “the response” of the Government of Navarra.
They understand that “eliminating exclusivity is one more way to privatize the public health system, to deteriorate it and expose it to irregular practices of plundering public resources such as tests, work time or referrals to the private one”, they have said to lament the “lack of vision» of the managers of the Department of Health.
The Government “does not see the solutions that the situation requires”
Thus, he considers the platform that the regional government “seems not to see the solutions that the situation requires. It is necessary to consolidate the staff, so that each patient can see the same doctor or nurse each time they are seen. Decent working conditions are needed to prevent the flight of health personnel, “they have analyzed to emphasize that this requires increasing the budget of the health system, especially Primary Care.”
With all this, they have shown their gratitude for “the commitment to defend the public health system” to the citizens, to the Health workers, to the City Councils that supported a motion of the platform in this line, to the unions and to the parliamentary groups who bet on a new Regional Health Law.
