Vitoria, (EFE).- The rector of the University of the Basque Country, Eva Ferreira, has highlighted to EFE that at the UPV/EHU “no one is going to be left behind from having higher education due to economic conditions or some disability”.
The rector visited the UPV/EHU University Orientation Fair this Saturday, in Álava, whose objective is to present the degree offer and help pre-university students in choosing their studies.
At the fair pavilion, the longest line was at the access and scholarship booth. On the one hand, the rector recalled that, “even without a scholarship, what is paid in the public university in tuition costs is between 10 and 15% of the real cost of the training.”
The university provides scholarships
On the other, “if there are people who cannot pay this tuition for economic reasons, there are some scholarships that, if the conditions are fulfilled, are automatic.”
“This is very important, no one is going to be left behind from having higher education due to economic conditions or some disability,” he stressed.
The rector of the UPV/EHU has encouraged young people to opt for university, because “higher education is essential”
“We know that the level of education is directly related to the probability of finding a job and the level of salary, which I think speaks for itself about the importance of having a good training.”
To specifically opt for the UPV/EHU, the rector has defended that studying at our public university “is an honor and a guarantee of quality for our future students.”
“The data is there, we are a university that is at the spearhead of research, among the top 400 of the best universities in the world,” he concluded.
